[comp.lang.postscript] ring bounds in Palatino-Roman.afm

lee@uhccux.uhcc.hawaii.edu (Greg Lee) (08/02/89)

A little detail. The file Palatino-Roman.afm I have from
Adobe (I think I got it from the file-server) has the line:
C 202 ; WX 333 ; N ring ; B 94 66 344 720 ;

The figure 66 for the lower left y-coordinate is apparently
wrong. The other figures might be off, too. Anyone have the
correct value? I've changed it to the following, which is
probably a little closer:
C 202 ; WX 333 ; N ring ; B 94 421 344 720 ;

The file has these version lines:
Comment Creation Date:Thu Feb 5 18:08:32 PST 1987
Version 001.001

I ran into this trying to derive position corrections for
centering diacritics over characters. I'm have difficulties
doing this for oblique fonts -- can't figure out how to
correct for the rightward slant of the characters. Anybody
know how to do this?
