[comp.lang.postscript] setidlefonts / idlefonts

jcm@mtunb.ATT.COM (was-John McMillan) (08/12/89)

I understand the concept, I think/hope, but the Stealth Bomber is an
open project in comparison:

1)	mark font_int Sx Sy rot nchars ... setfonts

Let's guess: is the font identifying integer the "UniqueId"
attribute of the font? Presumably Sx,Sy and rot are scaling
and rotation. What is "nchars" & how is it used?

2)	Since 'idlefonts' cleverly returns NUL information when
the 'default' is in effect, where does one find out the
default? My LW/II-NT[X]s don't seem to document this
in their manual, and -- to my surprise -- the PPDFiles
don't seem to carry this, either!

None of my four reference books seem to have a useful entry on this
problem. HELP (Glen?)!

PS: thanks to Bill for pointing out the PS sequence to lock the baud rate
at 19200 across power cycles. Now I've just got to keep
	repeating to myself:
"On the west coast, a switch labelled 9600 means 'any EE-ROMed value'"...
