Hello, I'm a beginner in PostScript but I think I have complex task to solve. I would like to send a bitmap created by the LaserWriter back to my Mac. There are some products like LaserTalk which makes the LW echo the result to the Mac instead of printing it. The standard set of PS commands doesn't seem to include commands which makes it possible. Thanks for any help! /Lars Sundstroem

Last I knew, LaserTalk used some special code licensed from Adobe to accomplish retrieving the contents of the LaserWriter's frame buffer. For mere mortals, it's off-limits. This is not entirely a bad thing, since it lets different printers use different imaging techniques. If you have a NTX with a hard disk, apparently you can grab certain bit maps back, and read them using some of the disk commands. Don Lancaster published a short blurb about this some months ba in his column in the computer shopper. his phone number is 602-428-4073
