I've noticed some ``strange fonts'' appearing in our Digital LN03R (ScriptPrinter). We are using it on a VAX under VMS V5.2 and the VAX ScriptPrinter Software, V2.1. The strange fonts have names like TRN$ANSI_FONT_0, TRN$ANSI_FONT_1, etc. These fonts aren't in the printer when it's first turned on. If the first job is a PostScript program to print all know fonts, they don't show up. However, after a normal mix of other jobs (most of which have been translated from ANSI by DEC's ScriptPrinter software), these new fonts are there. So it appears that DEC is downloading them outside the server loop. Does anyone know if this is true? Does anyone know what else DEC does outside the server loop? [I guess I'm assuming that they send the LN03R and end-of-job at the end of each ``VMS print queue job''.] Does anyone even know exactly what these TRN$ANSI_FONT_n fonts are? If you reply by mail to me, I'll summarize to the net. BTW, I've searched SYS$LIBRARY:CPS$DEVCTL.TLB and found no sign of these fonts. Does this mean that they're buried in the code? Or is there some other source of interesting PostScript code? -- .-----------------------------------------------------------------------------. | Bob Tinkelman | Internet: bob@ccavax.camb.com | | Cambridge Computer Associates, Inc. | UUCP: ...!uunet!ccavax!bob | | 56 Beaver Street, 3rd floor | AT&T: 212-425-5830 | | New York, NY 10004 | | `-----------------------------------------------------------------------------'
