I don't seem to be able to find any useful information about the PostScript primitives used on a LaserWriter II NTX for accessing the hard disk. I have Glenn's demonstration program (from the Adobe info server) for storing a font in the `fonts' directory, and modified it to write some useful things into a `progs' subdirectory, but what I would like to know is a) how can i find the names of the files/folders/directories on the hard disk? there is a primitive in the systemdict which is called something like `filenameforall', but i couldn't work out the required parameters. b) what *is* a downloaded font on the hard disk? is it a piece of postscript that is elaborated when the font is `findfont'ed? or is it something much more sinister? in other words, what must I put in the fonts directory to make up my own fonts? I'm sure this must be common knowledge, but our NTX didn't come with anything other than the standard Red Book dating from the Dawn of Time. All help gratefully received: thanks in advance. ============================================================================ L.Carr@ecs.soton.ac.uk Les Carr Tel: +44 703 593649 Dept of Electronics and Computer Science Fax: +44 703 593939 University of Southampton Telex: 47661 SOTONU G Southampton SO9 5NH England
