A few days ago, I mentioned problems with the Adobe Type Manager v1.01 screwing up the width of small 'r' in Microsoft Word 4.0. A little more experimentation shows that the problem is present also with MacWrite. Further, removing the Times Roman 14 bitmapped font, and then trying to use that size solves the problem of the width of small 'r' -- but removing Helvetica bitmapped fonts results in unreadable printed output. It appears that Adobe Type Manager uses the bitmapped font width tables -- which isn't always correct. -- Clayton E.
