Now they Well, IMAGEN is part of QMS, so this is not really what happened. Actually, UltraScript PC is primarily distributed through a new software distribution channel within QMS. It is managed by Walter Applewhite, who happens to work in the IMAGEN subsidiary, and is more than happy to ship as many USPC's as he can. I understand that you can get the product through SoftSell dealers now. You can also get directly from QMS by calling IMAGEN's number (408 986 9400). Last I heard, they will sell it direct to customers one at a time. - Geof -- geof@aurora.com / aurora!geof@decwrl.dec.com / geof%aurora.com@decwrl.dec.com

In the 5 years that I have been a dealer for QMS and The Laser connection, I have never known them to sell to end users. 3 or 4 days ago I had a talk both with my QMS rep and IMAGEN. I was told that the Ultrascript product won't work on an IMAGEN 8300, even though it supports EPSON mode???? (Told That by Imagen). I was told in detail, about what was going on with Imagen, (by The Laser Connection), and that "they had had a fight with Imagen, and that they were allowed to sell only to dealers, and only in 10 unit lots". Now I am very good friends with LOTS of people at The Laser Connection and QMS. The particular person who told me this, was Pam Callicott, whom I've dealt with for years. I am willing to believe that I may have not gotten the entire answer, but I implicitly trust my source.... Imagen told me that I'd have to get USPC from The Laser Connection...... ThThese people( Imagen), I don't know. e Cheers Woody

We recently bought a (singular, one, uno!) copy of USPC from Imagen out on
Walsh & San Tomas Expy in San Jose. Called them, ordered one will-call, picked
it up on the next day. (Bought around Jan 20th).
It appears that Imagen, QMS, SoftSell, and The Laser Connection are all very
confused about which thing anyone is selling. (Awful & confused sentence...
seems to match the current state of affairs! :)
