[comp.lang.postscript] Hack to Print PostScript to a file, Macintosh

derosa@cell.mot.COM (John DeRosa) (02/28/90)

Printing to a file via command-f is tedious. There is
a short hack that will put up a check box to do just
this in the laserwriter printer dialog box.

Use resedit to open the laserwriter driver, select DITL
then DITL ID = -8191. There is a hidden check box behind
the word laserwriter that has a width of zero.

Choose "select item number" from the DITL menu. Type in
22 and click on ok.

Choose "open as dialog item" from the file menu. In the
top, left, bottom, right boxes, type in 76, 393, 97, 467.
Close the dialog and a box called "disk file" should appear.

Close the dialog and all the other dialogs and say yes for
"save changes".

You may want to hack on ICN# to change the icon to reflect
the changes.

NOTE: This was done on driver v6.0. Things may be slightly
different on earlier versions.
