Hi there -
We are using a HP LaserJet II with the Pacific Page Phoenix PostScript clone
cartridge as an auxilliary PostScript printer to our Apple LaserWriter IINT.
The output is satisfactory, apart from the speed, but the printout is high
and to the left compared to the LaserWriter. Since we want the two printers
to be interchangeable, we need them both set up with the same margins.
We have them on serial lines into a Sun 3/280 running transcript as the
backend to a variety of inputs - troff, TeX, Mac-generated PostScript files
etc. ALL output has the same high & left offset on the LaserJet compared to
the LaserWriter.
Ideally, I would like to be able to do a 'once and for all' change to the
printable area on the LaserJet. Or download a settings change which would
remain in place until a power recycle. Or insert some extra instruction(s)
into each file heading for the LaserJet.
Sounds like a job for 'setmargins'. I would appreciate any help or advice.
Please reply by e-mail and I will summarise.
