Adobe has announced that Adobe Type Manager will be available soon for Windows. We have some questions that we hope Ross or someone can answer: Will you have to have a PS device driver loaded to access ATM? How will ATM be accessed by an app? How transparently? Will existing apps that support Windows system fonts automatically get access to ATM? Will there be an interface to obtain the outline paths for characters? Will ATM generate fonts for non-PS printers, e.g., LaserJet? What about color devices, like the PaintJet? Will ATM do anything nasty, like permanently locking down a big data segment or using FIXED memory? What are the expected min and max memory usage? If a version of Windows ran in protected mode (hypothetically!), would ATM also be compatible with protected mode? What is the date of availability, if announced or suspected? We would also be interested in being a beta site, assuming the answers to the above aren't too unpleasant. Thanks in advance for any info. -- Larry Spence larry@csccat ...{texbell,texsun}!csccat!larry
