Has anyone used to program "The Curator" to convert EPS or PS code to another format. I read in a s/w catalog that it will convert between any of a number of graphic formats. The ad specifically mentioned Encapsulated PostScript and (seperately) PostScript. I would love to believe that it will convert raw PS code to Pict, or any other graphic format. This is my mission in life, to find a tool that will do this for me and I will not rest until I have found my holy grail, THE ULTIMATE GRAPHIC FILE CONVERTER. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= = John DeRosa, Motorola, Inc, Cellular Infrastructure Division = = e-mail: ...uunet!motcid!derosaj = = Applelink: N1111 = = I do not hold by employer responsible for any information in this message = = nor am I responsible for anything my employer may do or say. = =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

I sincerely doubt that Curator can convert an arbitrary PostScript file, since it would have to either read the bitmap back from the printer, or have an entire PostScript interpreter embedded in it. I bet if you read the fine print you'll discover that it can convert *TO* PostScript, and it can take the TIFF or PICT "thumbnail" image from certain EPS files and convert those, but it can't actually convert the PostScript. I sent my copy of the Curator back because it turned out it only converts *B&W* TIFF files -- pretty useless. After 18 months of looking at image conversion programs, I've come to the conclusion that there are lies, damn lies, and claims made by conversion programs.
