For those using PC/VI (a full implementation of UNIX VI running under MS/PC-DOS) you should be aware that a new version has recently been released; version 1.02. The new version has been highly optimized so it can edit larger files (approx. 10,000 lines versus ver. 1.01's 7,500 line limit), has a smaller executable file (down to 104KB from 118KB), and a list of bugs fixed (most relatively minor, one VERY major), plus the edition of UNIX Version 3.9 VI compatibility (mode lines and showmode support). All in all PC/VI remains an EXCELLENT product. It is the only COMPLETE implementation of VI which is available for MS-DOS. For those who have not received Version 1.02 as yet, you should contact Custom Software Systems. When I talked to them last they said that MANY users had not returned their registration forms and only registered users would get updates. Since there is a 90 day period in which you get updates for free, you might as well take advantage of it and mail in your registration form.
