Dear Readers and Friends in Net Land: Hi! I own an AsherFax portable 4800 baud PC fax attachment. It comes with utilities to convert PCX to Fax files, and then lets you send them. But I am having trouble making Postscript Files into PCX files that this thing happens to like. I (and a friend at our office) is interested in taking a document in Postscript form, running several (if necc) filters and converter programs, and finally would like to be able to send *perfect* Postscript to the fax machine we dial up. The solution should *not* include scanning the printed document. Is anyone doing this right now? Does it work? I think it would be wonderful to send crisp clean typeset goodies to people who request a fax for more information. What hardware do you use? What software? What brand of computer and Operating System? How much did it cost you, and when did you get it? Do you have any regrets? Any wishes? Anything the manufacturer wishes weren't published on the net? ;-) Etc? Ettc? (thanks to you all in advance) -dave Oh yes: please mail me a copy of anything you post in answer to this, so that I can read it before it expires... -- Dave Berman 436 Perth Av #U-907 daveb@comspec.UUCP Computer at work Toronto Ontario uunet!mnetor!becker!comspec!daveb Canada M6P 3Y7 416-785-3668 Fax at work
