We are considering buying a Tektronic color postscript printer PhaserPX or 4693PX (or something like that, the one that listed for $8000.00). Does anyone has any experience with this particular printer ? What application can generate color postscript files ? I saw that FrameMaker can do color postscript prints, is it easy to do ? There are also many occasion we would want to dump our color screen and get color prints. Is there any available filter that can take any size of a 8bit raster file and convert it to a color postscript file and then send it to the printer. Tektronic's sale person said they don't have it. TeX, used with other drivers can support color in included graphics (and any other PostScript feature). dvitops is available from ymir.claremont.edu in [anonymous.tex.drivers.dvitops] It runs on Unix and MS-DOS.
