[nibbles and bits, nibbles and bits! I'm gonna get me some nibbles and bits!] Anyone else in netland have any trouble with the new Quadram EGA+ graphics adaptor for the IBM PC and compatibles. We just recently purchased a Zenith 158 (an XT clone), that came shipped with both Zenith's video adaptor (part of their floppy controller), and Paradise Systems CGA/Mono graphics adaptor. We have had exeperience with the old Z151s, with no problem. The machine works fine with both the Zenith and the Paradise (together or separately, according to modes and settings) in all of their configurations and modes. The Paradise has CGA mode and IBM Mono mode, the Zenith has only CGA mode or disabled. When we plug in the Quadram board, it displays nothing in CGA even though the systems seems to boot-up, but in Mono mode or EGA mode there seems to be a clash with the hard-disk or interupts, because the system locks up during bootup -- after the Zenith beeps a lot and the LEDs (diagnostic) go out, including the one that isn't supposed to, the Ready light. I am interested in what you had to go through, and what machine you tried you EGA+ on, and what may, or may not, be wrong in the manual and the DIP switches and various jumpers. -- URGENT HELP!!! -- Continuing Engineering Education Telecommunications Purdue University ...!ihnp4!pur-ee!pc-ecn!sandersr Let's make like a BSD process, and go FORK-OFF !! -- bob (and "make" a few children while we're at it ...)
