do we have any Ultrascript users out there? i'd like to hear your opinions about Ultrascript... can it produce bitmap output in any common file formats? i realize it's a DOS product, but i'd like to use it under SCO Unix dos-merge if it Does the Right Thing. followups to comp.lang.postscript -- /* eli@spdcc.com 617 932 5598 fax 508 294 0101 */

I've used Ultrascript to do *.PCX output which combined with bit2gray and VPIC, comprises the world's most cumbersome screen previewer for PostScript to VGA GIF. I've also used Ultrascript to produce PostScript to TIFF, which I then converted with BITFAX, and sent out on a SendFAX modem. It arrived in quite nice condition. Please note that USPC absolutely requires extended memory to work (actually it can be tweaked to work in 580K, but no less). It occasionally gives QEMM a conniption fit, and that such a program might not work under DOS-Merge. -- Craig Werner (future MD/PhD, 5.5 years down, 2.5 to go) werner@aecom.YU.EDU -- Albert Einstein College of Medicine (1935-14E Eastchester Rd., Bronx NY 10461, 212-931-2517) "Until it's on daytime television, it's impossible, and that's the final word."
