In the past 10 days there have been a number of useful suggestions in this newsgroup about how to reset a PostScript printer. Apparently PostScript printers get "constipated" when fed too varied a diet, i.e. prep files from too many vendors. Question: does anyone have "smart" reset-code that will 1) Reset the laser iff it is getting so low on available memory that it is likely to hang soon. and 2) Suppress the printing of the diagnostic page during reset. The advantage of code like this is that it could be routinely sent to the printer without upsetting the users and without slowing down the printer except when needed.
