I am attempting to get some higher resolution printout for a paper which includes some imagery. The PostScript is generated by dvi2ps and prints fine on an Apple LaserWriter, but when the same PostScript file is sent to a Linotype L300, the images are rotated 90 degrees clockwise about their upper left corner. I can probably correct for this, but I was wondering if this is a known problem, or if I am doing something wrong, or what? Has anyone experienced this with an L300? This may not be a problem, but something that was done by your service bureau (I assume you were getting Linotype output from a service bureau). Typically, the paper that is run through a high-res imagesetter is 12 inches wide or wider. To run an 8.5x11 across the paper instead of down the paper saves paper and time. Many programs offer a way of doing this from inside the program (a paper type called something like LetterTransverse, usually), but I believe that a section of code has been distributed to some service bureaus that will make the imagestter default to printing pages in this way. This may be what you are encountering. Hope this helps. -Brian dall@plains.NoDak.edu
