[comp.lang.postscript] problem using transcript's psdit

tgregg@smiley.mitre.org (Tom Gregg) (09/08/90)

I have been unsuccessfully attempting to get postscript output from fig2ps
to be incorporated into a *troff file and printed using transcript's psdit
& psroff commands to my postscript printer (Imagen 3320 w/ultrascript). I
have been following the psdit man page example and get my fig2ps output
printed as is in my document (i.e., it is not processed as postscript by
the printer). What do I need to do to get the fig2ps stuff to be
processed by the printer? I am using Transcript Sun version 3.2.

Gee, I didn't know there was a Sun TranScript version 3.2. When I talked
to the Sun rep recently, I asked about upgrading our 2.0 version, which is
2.0 and he said that the latest version is 2.1.1.

Unfortunately I don't have fig2ps, so I can't run tests at home. Also I
have ditroff (AT&T DWB 2.0), not ultrascript. But, I have been able to
include PostScript text into my ST:TNG Program Guide using ditroff and
the instructions to psdit.

If you want, you can send me a copy of the PostScript file that contains the
text you want to print, wrapped around the included fig2ps PostScript stuff.
I will then attempt to print it on my Apple LaserWriter IINT and see what is
wrong with it. I can't guarentee anything. Also include a copy of the troff
source file that you use.
