We produce map books with small point sizes of LetterGothic-Bold and LetterGothic-BoldSlanted text. We want to find a way to make slightly bolder fonts than ones we are getting. We have tried creating some code to slightly offset each character and then redrawing it but this seems to slow the printing by a factor of 2-3. Maybe if we understood how the font caching works we could make this code go faster. Question: Does anyone have and experiences to relate on making a font a little bolder? Postscript code? Font editors? Question: Can anyone explain how the fonts are cached in detail? -- Patrick O'Shaughnessy UUCP: {uunet!zardoz|sun!sunkist}!ohio!patrick Thomas Bros.
