Who out there uses the Adobe colorimage operator? Do you use the
format where the colors are separated, or the one where all the color
values for each pixel appear consecutively, or both?
For Ghostscript, I am thinking of also implementing mapped-color and
mapped-gray image operators, where each sample is 1, 2, 4, or 8 bits,
but the interpretation of the sample values is given by an array of
2, 4, 16, or 256 color objects or gray values respectively. Does
anyone have opinions about this idea, pro or con?
Does Level 2 PostScript have other extensions in this area beyond the
ones for Display PostScript?
