[comp.lang.postscript] Novice Question: end-of-file/lpscript

bdo8650@cec2.wustl.edu (Bryan D. O'Connor) (10/24/90)

(Novice Question Alert!)

I am using lpscript (from volume 15 of the comp.sources.usenet
archvies on wuarchive.wustl.edu) to mimic the Adobe
"enscript" command.

Here is my dilemma
------------------
I use the following command line:
  pr -l68 -w144 -2 -f | lpscript -r -s8 -o1.5 | lpr -Pmgm

When it goes to the printer (mgm) it will print multiple
copies of the file. (Like if I weren't there to stop it,
it would go on til the paper ran out.)

Here is my partial solution
---------------------------
Perhaps the lpscript program is not properly signalling
the end of the file? (I am not too familiar with Postscript
so this may not make sense.) The last couple lines of
a typical file look like this:

%%Trailer
  ...etc
^D

(yes the ctrl-D is there)

Here is my question
-------------------
What can I do to stop this problem? I appreciate any help.
Please email, and if there is any want at all for a summary,
I will post one.

Thanks.
