Does anyone know if Ghostscript supports standard fonts, e.g. type 1 & 3?

Ghostscript 2.0 supports both Type 1 and 3 fonts. I've tested four type 1 packages. However, there appears to be a problem with the space character in the Adobe Eurostile type 1 font. I've already sent email to ghost on this.
