[comp.lang.postscript] Printing docs as 2-up 2-sided 'books'

tneff@bfmny0.BFM.COM (Tom Neff) (01/07/91)

Something I like to do with my non-PostScript printers is print out
documents in landscape mode with two pages on each side of the sheet,
both sides of the sheet, so that the result can be folded over and
stapled to make a 'book'.

This means making two passes (unless you have a two sided printer like
the HPLJ3D, but forget that for the moment), where the first pass does
(N-1, 1), (N-3, 3), (N-5, 5)... and the second does (N/2, N/2+1),
(N/2-2, N/2+3)... on the other side.

Has anyone implemented anything along this line in PostScript?
