[net.micro] INCOMM Modem

leach@tolerant.UUCP (Geoff Leach) (07/24/86)

After reading the origina review of th e INCOMM modem, I
decided to purchase one for myself. What follows is a
second review of the product.

Cosmetics are not good. It's obviously in low volume
production. The back panel is particularly bad.
(1) There are no markings on the connectors for
telset/telco, no markings for on/off on the power.
(2) There is no polarity on the power cord. It's
possible to put it in upside down. Fortunately, that
does not damage the modem. In fact, nothing happens.

Function is good. It ran first time with a Hayes
script, which exercises a fair portion of the features.
It's been in use for two weeks without a hitch.

I purchasd is from the source listed below.  No problems;
they shipped the same day, UPS @nd day air. The parcel
beat the invoice (U.S. Snail) by four days.
