[comp.lang.postscript] Should laserprinter be left on continuously?

(This question was not in FAQ when I looked.)

As I am the proud new caretaker of an Apple personal laserwriter, I would
like to know which mode operation is better for the printer:

1) Turn it on in the morning, turn it off when I go home.

2) Never turn it off; leave it powered-up continuously.

3) ??

If it makes a difference: Currently I average printing between two
and five pages a day -so the "test page" the printer automatically
prints when I turn it on, is a big percentage of the paper I use.

Related question: The Apple manual which comes with the printer
alludes to a method (by means of postscript) to prevent the printer
from printing its "test page" upon power-up.
How can I accomplish that? My printer is hooked up to a Sun3
running version 18mumble of Sun's UNIX.

Thank you all very much.

Jonathan
