[comp.lang.postscript] Problem With "mp"

ins215n@mel.dit.csiro.au (Yong Shyang Liaw) (01/22/91)

I have been playing around with "mp" program for sometimes. Sometimes, When I print Unix manual pages using mp(e.g man tar | mp -f), only the first few pages are printed and the rest get aborted. I have checked the output of mp and it seems to be O.k (i.e in the form that it shall be.). However, when I delete the
control characters found in the Unix manual pages, all things are printed.
By the way, the printer I use is Apple Laser printer.
I would apprecite if anyone can help.
Thanks.

Older versions of MP were prone to running out of VM several pages
into a listing. Deletion of control characters probably works by
reducing the number of pages. See if you can find a newer version
of MP.
