[comp.lang.postscript] Computer Generated Holograms in PostScript

steve@bat.lle.rochester.edu (Steve Swales) (02/11/91)

Greetings,

I'm trying to find more information about a non-commercial software
package described in the September 1990 issue of 'Laser Focus World'.

The article describes a 'very versatile' package for testing the
capabilities of PostScript printers for, and for developing of
Computer Generated Holograms (CGHs). It was developed at the
University of Tsukuba in Japan, in the laboratory of Prof. T. Yatagai
in Pascal on a Macintosh.

Does anyone know if this package is available to other universities, or
about any similar package?

I have several references to published work by Prof. Yatagai, etc. to
follow up on, but nothing else about this software or use of
PostScript devices.

The LFW article did not offer any method of obtaining this software or
more information about it, though it did give an extensive description
of it's design and capabilities, as if they expected others to want to
use it.

Any information would be appreciated. Please reply by e-mail. I will
post a summary if there is sufficient cause.

Thanks in advance.

-steve
