Hi, I have TOPS running on an appletalk network with 2 mac plusses, 2 PCs and a laserwriter plus. I am trying to print WORD documents from the PC to the laserwriter. I told WORD to save the document as a postscript file, then sent the POSTSCRP.INI file and the saved file and got the proper printout. BUT I also got the ominous message "exitserver: permanent state may be changed". What's happening? If the init file is just storing a dictionary in RAM that shouldn't be permanent. I havn't found anything in the Postscript Language Reference Manual on this. Where should I look? What is the command to clear memory to make room for the Mac dictionary? thanks dave...
