We have a QMS PS800 printer and are using it with TEX on our VAX-11/780 (VMS). We are using the DVIPS driver from ArborText. This software came with an enhanced error handling PostScript program that will make the printer print a page with the error number and other information. My question is: Is there anyone out that can make this error handler not print the error if is a time-out? The printer seems to get a time-out between every job. Perhaps this can be solved by changing the print queue definition on the VAX or maybe modifying the DVIPS options file. Does anybody have an error handler they are really proud of and would like to post on the network? A while back I posted a request for a Postscript error handler (handleerror) to this group and received many copies of (virtually) the same routine. Thanks to everyone for that. But my problem is that now every time I print a correct document I get a page sent with the error handler output on with no errors i.e. %%[ Error : undefined; OffendingCommand: %% This page doesn't print until a new (non-postscript) file is sent to the printer (HP LJ II). Can anyone help ? Its not really a problem but it's wasting a lot of paper. Thanks for any thoughts. -- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |From: Graeme Griffiths | "I want to be a drunk, | |Abekas Video Systems,12 Portman Rd,| but I'm just not good enough!" | |Reading,Berks,ENGLAND. | Tyla (Dogs D'Amour) |
