Can anyone tell me if there exist (interactive) drawing programs for the ibm pc (286, ega or vga) which generate postscript output? David Jaffe (jaffe@hoss.unl.edu) Department of Mathematics and Statistics University of Nebraska -- Lincoln

In my not so humble opinion, nothing beats CorelDraw (list $695, good educational discounts available). All the desktop publishing mags and most other PC-related mags carry their ads. It's a great product, I think, though I may be blinded by having used it a lot. Runs under Windows 3.0. It used to include a run-time Windows, back in 2.11 days, but I don't know whether it still does. You might want to check that if you don't normally use Windows. -- Jess Anderson <> Madison Academic Computing Center <> University of Wisconsin Internet: anderson@macc.wisc.edu <-best, UUCP:{}!uwvax!macc.wisc.edu!anderson NeXTmail w/attachments: anderson@yak.macc.wisc.edu Bitnet: anderson@wiscmacc Room 3130 <> 1210 West Dayton Street / Madison WI 53706 <> Phone 608/262-5888

The "Free" version is only in CGA, but if you register the program, it has lots more features and includes support for EGA and VGA. Winthrop Chan wchan@umd5.umd.edu

There are some rough edges to it here and there. A&L retails for $695 or so. There is sort of a poor mans drawing program that is in the share ware world. It is called PICTHIS 3.0. It is on the GENIE round table. The first version of it was very primative. I have recently obj obtained a copy, but have not tried it. Cheers Woody
