Requests for software to convert text to PostScript are common on comp.lang.postscript. As the author of one such system (cz), I sometimes respond. But cz is not the best software for everyone, so I've decided to put together a brief listing of all the software I know about. I hope the format is self-explanatory. This is the last version I'll post, at least for a while. I'm changing jobs, and my new company is not yet on the Net. -- Howard Gayle Up to 9 April 1991: TN/ETX/TG/HL Ericsson Telecom AB S-126 25 Stockholm Sweden howard@ericsson.se uunet!ericsson.se!howard Phone: +46 8 719 5565 FAX : +46 8 719 8439 After 9 April 1991: HaL Computer Systems, Inc. 1315 Dell Avenue Campbell, California 95008 USA Phone: +1 408 379 7000 FAX : +1 408 379 5022 When HaL does get on the Net, my email address will probably be something like howard@hal.com. $Header: /usr/local/dist/free-dist/cz/3/work/RCS/TEXT-TO-PS,v 1.4 91/03/31 15:54:21 howard Exp $ TEXT-TO-POSTSCRIPT CONVERSION SOFTWARE Name a2ps Status copyrighted, freely redistributable except under compilation copyright Targets UNIX, MS-DOS Features Two pages on each physical page, borders surrounding pages, headers, line numbering, multiple copies, landscape and portrait mode, wide format, lines numbering, fold/cut long lines, control font size.
