It appears to me that one should be able to create a font that uses characters from other fonts - In a type 1 for example one could copy the font (in VM) and replace appropriate CharString entries with plain PostScript (I have managed to get this working). However how does one call and image characters from other fonts? I am interested in getting some fonts from a type 3 font into a type 1 (on the fly) I assume that I must use the BuildChar from the type 3 font in some way but have not quite managed it yet. Any ideas?
