I would like to be able to send PostScript commands to an Apple Laserwriter (original model) to tell it to change the paper size to expect prior to sending it a PostScript file via UNIX's lpr command. The PostScript file needs to print on legal size (8.5x14" paper). From what i can tell, applications (like FrameMaker) must send suchlike commands to the printer before it sends the PostScript file (at least I can't discern such commands in the PS file itself); and then, perhaps, it resets the size afterwards. It also seems that the manual feed option works the same way. I would appreciate it if anyone could tell me what commands to send in a UNIX environment (Sun OS 4.1) or enlighten me as to how this really works. thanks, g. khanna khanna@qal.berkeley.edu
