[comp.lang.postscript] New Journal: PostScript Review

lee@sq.sq.com (Liam R. E. Quin) (06/20/91)

The PostScript Language Journal (International Edition) has had more than a
change of name. The sleek, professionally-designed A4-sized journal in
front of me is entitled PostScript Review.

This issue includes an interview with Dr. James King of Adobe, articles on
document structuring conventions, printer file security,
Moir&e-acute;-patterns, several hardware reviews, an up-to-date new section,
and more.

The articles include PostScript code, and seem ot me to be aimed at people
who work with PostScript at a technical level. The list of services in the
back of the Journal is of wider appeal, and the News section and hardware
reviews would appeal to equipment buyers.

Advertising is noticeably absent -- there are only two advertisements --
but since it's effectively a new journal that's no surprise. The list of
Products and Services covering six closely-set pages at the back more than
makes up for that.

Perhaps the strangest omission was a description of the editorial staff.
But if that's the thing I miss most, it's not at all bad!

All in all, I'm very impressed.
