[alt.sources] Looking for autobauding getty

mgraham@cdp.UUCP (06/10/89)

A few months ago there was code posted to this conference for a program
that was a public-domain getty wiith autobauding. I am running Xenix
(2.2.3) and want to be able to accept 1200/2400 baud inbound calls
using Hayes compatible modems. Can someone mail me this code?

Thanks!

: -Domo,

The getty you are referring to is the one I wrote. If you send me
e-mail I will send it to you. There is one known *major* bug. On some
systems, and for reasons I haven't had time to figure out, when the
getty receives a break, it will appear to receive *many* breaks.
This, of course, means that it won't autobaud properly. It does work
correctly on my Telebit going from 9600 to 2400; and I have reason to
believe that it will work if you are only switching between one of
two baud rates. If anyone *does* figure out what is going wrong,
would you tell me? It would save me the headache of debugging it.

I will be working on it this week or maybe the weekend; bringing up C
news took the last one.

Followups have been directed to comp.sources.d. PLEASE post further
discussion there! I don't read this group, I archive it.
