I have a bulletin board system that runs in a single user mode on a Z-120. I was hoping that MS-DOS 3.1 or some later revision would support multi- tasking so I could support multiple users. Now I find out that MS-DOS 5.0 will have multi-tasking (rumored ?) but that it won't run on the Z-120. I've heard of Double-DOS for supporting two tasks, are there any other packages out there that support more tasks, say at least four? How do such systems work on CP/M machines? Thanks for any help or ideas ... Mike Pawka NAVAL OCEAN SYSTEMS CENTER PAWKA@NOSC-TECR.ARPA ------

I'm not very familiar with it, as I've never used it. I have used DoubleDOS and I'm very satisfied. DDOS multitasks (simultaniously), while Carousel swaps images from core to disk allowing many tasks, but not simultanious execution. It may be an idea worth looking into though. Or, you can always call SoftLogic's toll-free number and ask if it is capable of what you are looking for. If anyone has used Carousel, please send me mail and let me know what your comments are, if it's really that good, I may buy myself a copy. If it's like SoftLogic's other products, it's sure to be a top-notch package. though. -- David M.
