I am looking for some source code (preferably in C)
for a compiler (C or Pascal). I would be grateful if
someone could supply a few pointers. Send e-mail
to skanga\@worf.poly.edu or skanga\@prism.poly.edu

You might try the book "Introduction to Compiler Construction
with Unix" by Axel T. Schreiner and H. George Friedman, Jr. (c) 1985,
Prentice-Hall, Inc.

They give copious examples for unix with source listings.

The source code for the GNU C compiler is freely available. If
you're on the internet, you can FTP it from prep.ai.mit.edu or
gatekeeper.dec.com. Otherwise, you can probably send snail-mail to

                    Free Software Foundation, Inc.
675 Mass Ave, Cambridge, MA 02139, USA

to get a GNUS Bulletin, which will tell you how to order a tape.
Tapes are either $175 or $200 these days; I forget.

The address above is two years old - I'm not sure it's still
correct...

I would also be grateful for any information that anyone could tell me
about compilers, as I am interested in writing a compiler for pascal.

My course doesn't cover compilers until the third/fourth year; but I am
interested in how a compiler works, and will probably take up the
challenge over the summer with a few friends/coursemates.

Any help appreciated.
