[alt.sources] Looking for a decent SysV shell.

sdougiama@cc.curtin.edu.au (05/09/91)

Greetings all.

I have been looking on and off for a couple of years now for a decent
shell for System V (3.2). All the shells with command recall etc like
tcsh and zsh and shell addons like fep and reactive keyboard seem to be
only written for BSD systems. I also have access to a Sun 386i and have
had no real trouble getting these things to work on that.
However, System V is a real pain in the wazoombas.

So if anyone there can point me to some decent sources or information, I'd
really appreciate it. I'm using Interactive 386/ix 2.0.2 if it matters.

I'm posting this since mail to you was bouncing...

Try getting bash-1.07.tar.Z (or bash-1.07.CWRU.tar.Z, whatever that is),
from somewhere like ftp.adelaide.edu.au:/pub/GNU.

Good luck,
Andrew
