We are in the process of migrating from BASIC to HP-UX on the 310's
controlling our test stands. Our development 320 has BASIC 5.11 and
HP-UX 5.1 installed. When running HP-UX, BASIC can be booted by the
command "reboot -f SYS_BAS51" (that's the file name of the BASIC OS).
Our first target system got a later version of HP-UX (6.2). When I
issue the same command, the system boots, the boot ROM goes looking for
SYS_BAS51, and promptly states "SYSTEM NOT FOUND". After considerable
time and frustration, I found that if I installed the BASIC OS as
SYSBAS51 (omitting the underscore), everything worked OK.
Can anyone explain what happened?
