[comp.std.misc] POSIX Ada Standard -- LAST CHANCE

deller@vrdxhq.verdix.com (Steve Deller) (08/03/90)

The deadline for participating in the balloting for the P1003.5 POSIX Ada
Binding Standard is 6 August.

This is your LAST CHANCE. If you want to influence the standard, you MUST
respond NOW. IEEE Standards rules permit NO EXCEPTIONS.

Use the form below for response. If you are a SIGAda member you should have
already received a letter from me explaining why this standard is so important
to the Ada community and why wide participation in the standards balloting is
so important.

Both the Navy and Army have expressed intent to require conformance to the
standard that will result from this balloting; if you program in Ada you will
quite likely be using the interface defined by this standard within a year.

DO NOT USE SURFACE MAIL TO RESPOND TO THE IEEE. The form, fully filled out,
MUST be AT THE IEEE OFFICES before 6 August. That means FAX (or call their
number if you do not have access to FAX).

Chair, P1003.5
