[comp.protocols.iso] X.500 PICS?

kmont@hpindda.HP.COM (Kevin Montgomery) (09/01/89)

Has anyone started work on an X.500 PICS (Protocol and Implementation
Conformance Spec?)? Technically, I'd think COS would come up with one
sooner or later and I'd like to compare with something I've been working on-
any ideas is greatly appreciated...

PICS are written by ISO or CCITT. The X.500 PICS will be jointly
written by both groups (since it is a joint standard). Work in this
area will start internationally in late October, 1989. COS will (I
assume) do USA conformance testing based on that PICS and the
X.500 abstract test cases written by CCITT.

thanks- as it turns out, I've been in touch with the person
who has been given the responsibility in ISO. Sorry I don't
get upstairs enough, alyson... ;-)
