When coding a header parser for ISO TP, one must decide whether to use "basic" or "extended" formats as the default for DT, ED (normal and expedited data), AK, EA (normal and expedited acks) and RJ (reject) TPDUs. (No, a LAN monitor isn't guaranteed to capture all packets all of the time, and it might be on one of several alternate paths and not be seeing all the traffic anyway.) Obviously, the default should be configurable, but I need somes ort of initial value. Which format is presently more widely requested/accepted? Which is more likely to be found in a year or two? -- James B. VanBokkelen 26 Princess St., Wakefield, MA 01880 FTP Software Inc. voice: (617) 246-0900 fax: (617) 246-0901
