The NSAP address format in GOSIP 2.0 seems to be different that any of the two routable address formats (nbs, osinet) supported by the recent SunLink OSI 6.0 implementation. Any ideas why there is this difference and what to do about it? The next version of Cisco router software also supports ISO IP. Does anyone know which address formats its routing is based on? Are we expecting to see conformance to the GOSIP 2.0 format and if so, how long will it take? -- -- Juha Heinanen, Tampere Univ. of Technology, Finland jh@tut.fi (Internet), tut!jh (UUCP), jh@tut (Bitnet)

Juha, The current cisco release (8.0) supports any NSAP format with hierarchical static routing -- it views NSAPs only as variable length strings, and does not presume or require any additional structure. Static routes to particular hosts, areas, routing domains, or afi's may be set up, for instance, simply by creating route entries with the appropriate NSAP-prefixes.
