[comp.protocols.iso] WKS files as externally-defined body parts

philf@xymox.metaphor.com (Phil Fernandez) (11/15/89)

We are interested in building software that can include a Lotus WKS
(or WK1 or WK3) file as an externally-defined body part in a 1988
x.400 message.

I have two questions:

1) Does anyone know if Lotus or some other organization has defined
such an x.400 object?

2) If so, is there any software that implements "appropriate" service
for this body part, e.g., a UA that offers to extract the body part
and produce a DOS- or OS/2-compatible file, or pass a WKS-format
object through a gateway?

Any pointers/thoughts would be appreciated. If the answer is
no-such-thing, but others are interested in exploring this issue, feel
free to contact.

If there's interest, I'll summarize answers to the net.
