[comp.protocols.iso] Stable Implementation Agreements

king@vrdxhq.verdix.com (Greg King) (01/04/90)

Can anyone provide me with, presumably, an NBS contact that I can
obtain the most recent copy of NBS Special Publication 500-150 from?
I need a copy of the Stable Implementation Agreements for OSI Protocols.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

NBS is now NIST, National Institute of Standards and Technology. I do not
have a phone number, but you want to contact the Superintendent of Documents,
US Government Printing Office, Washington, DC 20402.

However, Publication 500-150? Is that the 1987 version (Version 1)? My 1988
version (Version 2) is Publication 500-162, Edition 3. Further, a new
version (Version 3) is soon to be published. You might want to wait about
1 month before you order.

The Stable Implementation Agreements get a new NIST Special Publication
number each time a new version is issued. To get the most recent
version and edition of the SA you have to do two things. First, order
the current published SA, which is Version 2, Edition 1 (Dec 88) and
can be purchased from the Gov't Printing Office (they take Mastercard
and Visa...I'm serious). GPO's phone number is (202)783-3238. Order:

Stable Implementation Agreements for Open Systems
Interconnection Protocols, Version 2, Edition 1
	NIST Special Publication #500-162
	December, 1988
	GPO Stock #003-003-02921-1

Second, call Brenda Gray (NIST) at (301)975-3664 and ask her to send
the change pages to bring your SA up to V2E4. Note that V2E4 is
essentially V3E1. V3E1 will be distributed at the March Workshop, but
will not be available from GPO until about May, 1990.

Richard
