Hi... Are you tired of working on top of TCP/IP ?? Here is a good news from our Informix SQL Access Group. My RDA (Remote Database Access, ISO/IEC DP 9579-1) is now about to work. Currently, it is running on top of SunLink OSI ("pure" OSI stack) and on top of TCP/IP with RFC 1006 both as a loopback mode on my SPARCstation 1. Initially, I embedded it into ISODE-6.0 (== 50 MB, a public domain software which was developed under the contract from the U.S. Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency and the U.S. Air Force). Right now, my RDA is of a size with about 5 MB. It will be much bigger than now. Still I need a long way to go for the final product. The source codes are strictly confidential. We need to have someone starts working on the portion of mapping SQL to RDA services so that our RDA can interface with ESQL/C. We also need to have someone who can work RDA with me plus a testing guy as soon as possible. I hope we can replace our product with this OSI and TCP/IP-based product in the near future. Thanks.
