[net.news.group] creationism evolving towards permanence

chuqui@nsc.UUCP (Chuq Von Rospach) (03/29/84)

It is beginning to look like the evolution/creationism 'discussion' (I use
that word very loosely in this context) is simply NOT going to go away. I
don't know about the rest of you, but I'm very tired of seeing it in
net.misc. Can we find a permanent home for this, so I can stop listening to
all of these people yell at each other? How about putting the evolutionists
in net.bio and the creationists in net.religion, with some fireproof
shielding in between? How about net.creation, so us normal people can
unsubscribe to it? Anyone out there with a decent suggestions?

It's not easy having a good time. Even smiling makes my face ache.

Here, Here. I agree completely. Move the discussion elsewhere.
I am tired of plowing through messages, 90% of which are replies to
replies to replies to..., all containing the total contents of what
was in the previous message, in order to reply to it. Move it to
net.religion. Or how about a new group: net.argue, for those who
like to argue for arguments sake.

Don't you people think it's time for a net.origins ?
More than half the articles in net.misc talk about this !

By every criteria I've ever heard discussed for creating new news groups,
I've got to agree that this debate deserves one.
