Hi! I was wondering if the problem of connection collisions exists in ISO/TP0/2/4? Let me explain. When I say connection collision, I mean that two processes try to connection with each other simultaneously. If both processes are in a syncronous connection request, and a collision occurs, both processes will hang waiting on the other to accept. I know that one possible way to avoid collisions is through asynchronous connect calls. But, I am wondering if the all powerful ISO Transport protocol will recognize this collision and return a connection to both processes. Any answers will be greatly appreciated Thank you Bobby

According to my belief, the "all powerful OSI transport protocol" will decide
that two people are wanting a connection, so two connections should be granted.
There is even a special identifier within the protocol to distinguish PDUs
on two different transport connections from each other when they use the same
network connection.
The idea of call collision causing a single connection is strictly a
TCP/IP idea.
