Our trusty old Ridge 3200 finally died about a week ago. It had a hard disk crash on the root drive. Fortunately the head seems to have survived and it only chomped on a few tracks. Unfortunately, it seems to have picked some of the worse tracks to crash on. I think it wiped out somewhere where directory entries are stored. Could anyone please help me figure out what's going on? Specifically, does anyone have any idea what a ROS volume looks like? I'm familiar with BSD and SYS5 filesystems, but I have no idea what's going on here. And the filesystem layout doesn't seem to be explained in any of the docs we have laying around here. Thanks for any information you may have, - Jim Liu jtliu@phoenix.princeton.edu
